Have you been trying different over-the-counter treatments for cold sores, but never found that cold sore remedy that worked for you? Trust me, you are not the only one. Most of the treatments or products you can buy in stores are only there to give your cold sore relief and shorten its duration, and it will never quite cure it. They may claim to be effective, but you must not be fooled. Here are 5 cold sore remedies that have been proven to work for ages and they can work for you too:

Vitamin Supplements
While this might seem obvious an idea to get a better immune system and thus prevent cold sores, it actually are a lot of people who are not getting the right vitamins, enough or maybe some arent even aware of this idea. This is the most basic cold sore remedy out there and it is a simple one. If you arent eating a balanced and healthy diet (relax, not many people do this, it is hard work), then getting some vitamin supplements to aid you in treating your cold sores might be a wise move.

Vitamin E, in conjunction with zinc and calcium will help shorten the duration a cold sore lasts and it will prevent new fever blisters from breaking out. Vitamin C and B will fight stress problems and boost your immune system. These are the most important vitamins you need, so finding a basic multi-vitamin that contains these and take them daily should give you an edge against the cold sores.

Applying Ice
If you have read some of the posts here at this blog, you know that we go on and on about this neat little trick. But do you know why? Because IT WORKS! If you immediately start your cold sore treatment when you feel a tingling sensation around the mouth area, you will drastically reduce the duration of the sore and the size of the outbreak. Just whip out a few ice cubes, wrap them in a cloth of some sort and hold it onto the spot. Works great. Remember to do this BEFORE the cold sore has broken out, as it wont have much effect after the outbreak.

Garlic Oil
This seem to be a staple in most homes that practice a lot of home remedies, and that is well founded. Garlic is a very powerful medicine against a lot of different infections. The thing is that the garlic penetrates the skin and thus gets through to the root of the problem and fights the virus from the inside. In addition to doing a good job killing the virus, it also keeps the sore fresh and clean.

You can use both garlic gel and real garlic on the cold sore, as long as it is fresh. Fresh garlic juice will do the best job, so just apply the garlic juice onto the sore and let it stay there for as long as you can have it.

These are the methods I use to prevent cold sores from popping up time and again, and it has proven to work very well. If you want another cold sore remedy or want to get rid of cold sores forever, I recommend checking out one of the best cold sore remedies I have ever tried.

The winter is coming up and you probably are headed for the mountaincabins to take a long vacation in the snowy mountains. Soaking up the sun and having fun in the great nature. But be careful, this is the prime season for cold sore outbreaks. The herpes virus just loves to come out when there is cold weather and win accompanied by strong sunlight. Here are some tips to soothe the common cold sore in the winter holidays.

Take Vitamin C supplements
First of all, get enough vitamin C. This will strengthen your immune system and help in the fight against the cold sore outbreaks. In addition it will prevent most other illnesses like a regular cold that would make your vacation a bad one. So drop by your local drug store and pickup some vitamin supplements and stack up with the oranges and orange juice and dig in.

Wear sunscreen
Exposure to the sun and extreme weather is one of the main factors of triggering a cold sore, but being in the mountains near both the sun AND the cold weather will make it hard to avoid them. What you need to do is taking precautions. Remember to wear warm clothes and pack yourself in as good as you can. Add sunscreen to your lips and other susceptible ares of at least 15 SPF.

Avoid stressing out
This might seem weird to put in here, but it just so happen to be that people seem to not relax when they have a vacation. They are constantly thinking about the work that sits waiting at home for them or other things that they cannot do anything about. Remember, you are in the mountains to relax, so do that. Try meditation or reading a good book or some other thing that might make you relax, you might even like doing something like this.

So here were 3 tips to soothe the common cold sore. There are plenty of other useful tricks and tips for preventing and curing cold sores. Check out the e-book ‘Cold Sore Freedom In 3 Days’ written by Grace Melgarejo and be free from your cold sores in matter of days.

So you have heard of cold sores? I guess you also have been unfortunate enough to have gotten them as well. Almost 90% of all adults have had these fever blisters. They have been dealing with them since they first got them and have been prone to get them ever since. They always like to show up on the most important days also. Here I will provide you sufferers with a great treatment for cold sores.

If you would like to get some great tips for treating cold sores right away, give this program a go for a great treatment for cold sores!

Getting rid of cold sores is easier said than done. Despite the vast amount of products available in this day and age, there isn’t a single treatment that seems to get the job done. The problem is that most of the drugs and topical treatments simply don’t work. They maybe shorten the duration of the cold sore, but that is not what we are after. We want a solution that can cure our pain for good.

Since this illness is so common, one would find it hard to believe that no one has found a cure for it yet. But don’t sweat it; there actually is a cure. A woman by the name Grace Melgarejo who used to suffer from constant cold sores has researched and developed a cure for cold sores that seem to help thousands of people.

In her research and testing, she has found a method that has proven to stop cold sores dead in their tracks and she has now gone several years without a recurring event. Needless to say, I was skeptical of such a claim. How could she do something that doctors and scientists out there couldn’t do? Well, the answer is simple, she was looking for all natural methods. No fancy drugs or dangerous treatments. She only used simple household items to cure her cold sores in a matter of 3 days!

Now you can get rid of your cold sores in just 3 days. Download Grace Melgarejo’s E-book from her webpage and get access to a wealth of information that has helped thousands of people rid themselves of cold sores forever.

You all know about the cold sores by now I presume. They come, you curse them and wonder what you have done wrong in this life to deserve this pain. You have gone through this routine many times before and you know it by heart now. First it gets red, then itchy and finally the area puffs into a huge fever blister. There seems to be nothing that can stop these pestering cold sores. But fear not, I have some tips for what you can do to avoid these cold sores.

Protect The Cold Sore With Petroleum Jelly
Cover your cold sore with petroleum jelly. This speeds up the healing process significantly and relieves the pain also. Be sure not to dip back into the jelly with the same finger you used to touch your sore. It would be better to use fresh cotton buds.

Keep The Cold Sore Dry And Don’t Touch It
Rememeber not to touch the sore. This only irritates it and it will take it longer to be able to heal and it will ache even more. If it starts to puss, you should seek medical attention instead of trying to fix it yourself.

Give The Cold Sore A Zinc Treatment
Studies have shown that applying a water mix with zinc on the spot you feel the tingling, before your cold sore has broken out speeds up the healing process by a huge amount. This is because the DNA of the zinc matches up with the herpes virus and thus stops it from splitting up and spreading wider.

Block That Weather Out
One trigger of cold sores are extreme weather and thus you should protect your lips from this. Having a lip balm at hand is key to reduce this problem.

Cut Back Arginine-Rich Foods
The herpes virus needs arginine as an essential amino acid for its metabolism, so cut out foods such as chocolate, cola, peas, grain cereals, peanuts, gelatine, cashews and beer.

There are plenty of ways to get rid of cold sores, and many can be done from your home with all natural methods with no side effects. These methods are explained in Grace Melgarejo’s book Cold Sore Freedom In 3 Days that gives you a plan to be free from cold sores in less than 3 days. This book is simply amazing and the system has worked for thousands of people, including me. I recommend this to anyone having trouble with cold sores and I think you will have the same success I did.

Cold sores are a type of facial lesion that are found either on the lips or around the mouth area. They stem from the herpes simplex virus and once you have got this virus, you are prone to getting cold sores for the rest of your life. The triggers that causes the cold sores to appear differ from person to person, but you should read up on them and find out what causes your fever blisters to appear. I will in this article focus on home remedies for cold sores and give you tips on how to cure them naturally.

Prevention Of Cold Sores
This should be your main priority as when you have gotten the cold sores once, you will be able to get them anytime of the year. First thing to remember is that the fever blisters are highly contagious. Avoid kissing and remember to wash your hands thoroughly if you happen to touch the sore. Exposure to extreme weather, like the sun or extreme cold might be causes for the cold sores to trigger. Stress is another factor that causes them and also a weak immune system. Be sure to get enough Vitamin C, Zinc, Yogurt, etc. These are all home remedies for cold sores that will help prevent a possible outbreak.

Natural Home Remedies For Cold Sores
The cold sore goes through different stages. First you have a pre-outbreak stage. This is before it has broken out, but you can feel it is coming by a tingling in the specific area. This may be the most crucial part of the treatment. Then there is the post-outbreak stage, right after the outbreak has occured. Now there are several other methods that should be applied to shorten the length the sore stays. And lastly is the healing stage. Now the cold sore is contained and the body is trying to finish the sore of. There is remedies to be applied at every stage, and I will list them here:

Pre-Outbreak Stage Remedies
Aloe Apply this when you start feeling a tingling on the affected area. This is important to start using before an outbreak as it is only effective now. Usually you carry with you some aloe gel in some form when you travel or have it in some skin creams, so it shouldnt be that hard to get a hold of.

Ice This will not only ease the pain, but also limit the outbreak. If you apply this right when you start feeling the tingling, your outbreak will be smaller and last for a shorter duration. Use an ice cube in a piece of cloth to avoid getting sores from the cold.

Post-Outbreak Stage Remedies
DMSO or dimethyl sulfoxide. Apply this to the sore twice a day. This will stop the virus from growing and spreading. Use a cotton ball or your fingers to apply.

Lemon Balm This has been shown in studies to be able to reduce the symptoms of cold sores and significantly speed up the healing process.

Lysine Lysine has shown to be a prevention of cold sores. You find this in most dairy products, so start eating more of that if you would like to prevent cold sores. Also lessen the intake of arginine which has shown to be a trigger of cold sores. Lysine can also be applied topically to make the sore heal faster.

Tea Bag Apply a tea bag on the sore. First boil some water and heat the bag. Cool it down and apply to the sore. This will eventually clear up the bacterias and start the healing process sooner.

Healing Stage Remedies
Vaseline Apply this to avoid the sore from getting dry and crack. This will make it itch less and it will look nicer.

Sage Sage is a type of tea and drinking several cups a day will help clear the sore up faster.

Here is a list of different natural home remedies for cold sores that I have tried and work for me. I will try to update the list as I come up with more ideas. I would love to hear comments from others as what has worked for you and what did not.

Now you can try to cure your cold sores from your own home. These cures has proven for me to be quite effective and I will continue to use them.

The cold sores are known to come up every now and then and particularly when you least need them, like right before big happenings like prom or marriage. This can be frustrating and may make you feel embarresed, but as we know, this only makes it worse. So is there a way to deal with this problem? Can we stop these blisters from appearing?

Stopping cold sores is not easy. It actually is impossible, as when you first have got them, the herpes simplex virus never gets out of your body. What you can do though is preventing the outbreaks from occuring, you can keep the virus at bay and hinder any new outbreaks, there is no permanent cure for this virus. So what we need to do is prevent an outbreak from taking place, and if an outbreak comes, take the necessary precautions.

The most important thing to do when you first have an outbreak is to put something cold on it to make the swelling less noticeable. You can use something you find in the fridge or an ice cube in a hankerchief. Put this on the area and the outbreak will not only become smaller, but will also last shorter.

After this you can use whatever treatment you find useful. I have found some good treatments in the book ’Cold Sore Freedom in 3 Days’. It contains lots of great cures and tips on how to cure the cold sores for good in a natural way.

So, remember that you cant permanently cure the cold sores, you can only prevent the outbreaks and do your best to cure it when it first comes out. Therefore, being up to date on the best methods to cure these pestering bacterias will lower the chance of them appearing and troubling your life again. Therefore, prevention is of utmost importance.

If you are one of the unfortunates to have caught the herpes simplex virus, then you are going to have to live with the risk of an outbreak at any time for the rest of your life. This may be a harsh fact to face, but believe me, there are many steps one can take to be able to reduce the amount of times the virus breaks out. So how can you prevent cold sores you might think, but fear not. There are plenty of steps that can be taken to prevent cold sores and I have made a list of things that are going to help keep these pestering blisters away.

The common man would say that you should lead a healthy life and you wont become sick. This offcourse goes for cold sores, and especially these viruses. Cold sores thrive upon weak immune systems and one should therefore do everything to keep it working properly. Factors in life like tiredness, stress and illnesses makes us weaker and that goes for our immune system aswell. Getting enough sleep is a factor that we easily can fix, but illnesses are something that mostly are out of our hands. To stay healthy, take vitamin supplement, eat healthy, excercise and be happy. Works for me and should for everyone else. Stress is a factor that we can do some work on. Ive already talked about it in my article Help For Cold Sores: Stress Relievers about how one can reduce stress in ones daily life.

Eating a healthy diet also is important to stay cold sore free. There are different types of food that are known to reduce the occurence of cold sore outbreaks. These are foods that include a lot of lysine and less of arginine. Therefore you should eat foods like:
-	Dairy Products (milk, cheese, youghurt, etc)
-	Legumes
-	Fish
-	Sprouts

All these are rich on lysine and should be enough to cover your daily need and even bring the cold sore to a halt. Its also important to avoid foods that are rich in arginine. Those are:
-	Chocolate
-	Nuts
-	Oats
-	Carob
-	Soya Beans (not soy that are in tofu and soy milk)

For a more thorough list of products you can go here for more information on which products are good for your recovery from cold sores.

Preventing cold sores is a daunting task, but if one is prepared and have the right information at their disposal it will be much easier. Being able to get help from the food, almost having it work as medecine is a great thing. One should therefore not start shoving in unhealthy food when one feels sorry for themselves, but rather take action and try to get rid of the cold sore as soon as possible. If you would like to cure your sores even faster, Id recommend to check out Cold Sore Freedom in 3 Days, a site about how one can cure your cold sores as fast as 3 days! This has also been permanent for some, so definately worth checking out.

As sad as it is, there is no cure for the herpes simplex virus, also known as HIV, and therefore there is no cure for the cold sores that you get, nor can you fully stop them for coming back. But there are ways of treating a cold sore, to help the healing process and to reduce the time that it is visible. By trying these methods, you might be able to get rid of the sore faster than it would on its own.

Its imperative to start the healing right away, even before the blister has broken out. When you start to feel a tingling or an itching motion around your mouth area, then that is the time to get ready to fight the virus. Find something that is really cold, ice works the best, and put it onto the spot that tingles. This will stop the virus from reproducing itself at an enourmous rate. That is what is happening when you feel the tingling. The virus comes to the surface and forces the nerve cells to reproduce the virus. This treatment will not prevent the virus, it will merely halt the reproduction and make the virus last for a shorter time and reduce the size of the blister.

Use the ice for as long as the itching are present and even when the spot starts to swell. Only after the wound opens up, ice no longer works as well because the healing process has started and ice only slows that down. If the wound are very swollen, ice can be put on to ease the pain. The smartest treatment at this point is to apply a cold sore cream of some sort and try to kill the dead cells of the virus so that one allows new cells to repair the wound. There are several products on the market that does the same trick, but a few good ones are Zovirax or Betadine. Remember to always consult a doctor or a pharmacist before trying any of these products.

Now for the final healing process, apply warmth to the blister so that blood flows more freely to the area. This speeds up the repairing severly and this can be done in many ways. Warm up a bowl of steaming water, put your head into the bowl, but not the water and put a towel over your head. This will also cleans your pores aswell as helping you keep your face warm. Other things are to use a cloth and dip it in hot water and put it onto the wound. Do whatever you like, just as long as you keep the wound warm and not get yourself burnt. Remember to not touch the wound and then other places to refrain from spreading the virus. Also dont expose yourself to the sun, this will only hamper the healing and might even induce another outbreak.

So now you have a plan on how you can treat a cold sore. Next time around you will be prepared to battle this vicious virus. Just remember to clean your hands thoroughly after you treat your wound and not spread this bugger. For more information on treating a cold sore, I suggest checking out Cold Sore Freedom in 3 Days written by Grace Melgarejo. This is a great resource on how to cure a cold sore, and that in only 3 days. Hope this helps!

Cold Sores, comes out when you least need and expects it. Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). This virus is not possible to get rid of when you first have gotten it, and it lies in your nerve system until its triggered. Its usually activated by things like a cold, stress, anxiety or extreme exposure to sunlight. Its important to notice that its not possible to completely remove the virus, but one can halt the amount of times that the virus shows up and how long it will stay for each time. Since stress is the number one trigger of the virus, Ive compiled a list of ten relievers of stress. Hope some of these works for you!

Put On Some Music
Music is the number one stress reliever for me. I myself love music and Ive played the drums for years, so I always start “air drumming” when some good music comes on. It can be any kind of music actually, just that it takes your thoughts elsewhere. Make it so that you stop thinking about that test at school that didnt go your way or the training you missed the other day. Its nothing you can do about that now, so live in the now.

Set Up A Spa At Your Home
Im a guy, and I gotta admit, a spa is great. Ive been to a spa at my local hotel once, and it literally changed my life. Making one at home is easy too. Just fill up your bathtub, make sure you are not disturbed in an hour, have some soothing music at hand and use some good bath products like bubbles and oils. This will make you drift away easily.

Dont Be Afraid To Cancel Appointments
Are you starting to stress out and are meeting some friends in an hour? Cancel it! If they really are your friends, theyll understand. If you need some time alone, just tell them so. You can always do something some other day and it will greatly reduce the chance of getting those pesky cold sores.

Try Solving The Rubiks Cube (insert random thinking game that you like)
This may not be for everyone, but I like to fiddle with the rubiks cube when Im feeling down or stressed out. It relieves my tension and my focus in entirely on the cube. This may not be for everyone, like my girlfriend who cant solve it, she then gets MORE stressed by trying it, but playing any kind of game is good. How about Bejeweled? That is one of my favorites on the internet. Just anything that makes your mind drift off.

Hope some of these tips were helpful, and if you would like more info on help cold for sores I suggest you check out Cold Sore Freedom in 3 Days by Grace Melgarejo which have helped thousands of people in being cold sore free for long periods of time.
