Here are some tips to soothe the common cold sore in the winter holidays.
Take Vitamin C supplements
First of all, get enough vitamin C. This will strengthen your immune system and help in the fight against the cold sore outbreaks. In addition it will prevent most other illnesses like a regular cold that would make your vacation a bad one. So drop by your local drug store and pickup some vitamin supplements and stack up with the oranges and orange juice and dig in.
Wear sunscreen
Exposure to the sun and extreme weather is one of the main factors of triggering a cold sore, but being in the mountains near both the sun AND the cold weather will make it hard to avoid them. What you need to do is taking precautions. Remember to wear warm clothes and pack yourself in as good as you can. Add sunscreen to your lips and other susceptible ares of at least 15 SPF.
Avoid stressing out
This might seem weird to put in here, but it just so happen to be that people seem to not relax when they have a vacation. They are constantly thinking about the work that sits waiting at home for them or other things that they cannot do anything about. Remember, you are in the mountains to relax, so do that. Try meditation or reading a good book or some other thing that might make you relax, you might even like doing something like this.
